Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev together with the First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and other family members joined the Flower Day ceremony to mark the 91st anniversary of birthday of the national Leader Heydar Aliyev on May 10.

Traditionally held in a park in front of the Heydar Aliyev Palace in the center of Baku, the Flower Day is marked with a spectacular display of flowers from all over the world. Music and dances are other integral part of the ceremony.

The pedestal of the magnificent monument to the creator of independent Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev was also decorated with flowers, as well as the fountains in the park were surrounded by the flowers of different colors. What is interesting about the decoration is that no composition is repeated at all.

One of the most majestic compositions, adorned with a flower portrait of the great leader, was erected in front of the Heydar Aliyev Palace.

During the festival, organized by the Mayor's Office of Baku, hundreds of children, dressed in various garments resembling flowers passed through the park, forming a flower parade.

President Aliyev, his wife and family members greeted warmly with the kids gathered in the park and took photos together.

The President also reviewed the plan for setting up temporary parking slots in different parts of the city. Single-row parking slots will be created on right and left sides of capital's certain streets by joint works of the State Traffic Police and a special department of motor control under the Mayor's Office of Baku. This system, equipped with the special payment machines will prevent traffic congestion in the city.

The park and its surroundings, beloved by Baku residents and its visitors, seem to be turned into a wonderful flower garden. Being decorated with interesting compositions, such as floral carpets with beautiful designs, pictures of flowers, plants and leaves, figures of birds and fairy tales' characters made up of the flowers of various colors, the park was awakened with a good mood.

Heydar Aliyev, who will hold an honorable place in the history of the Azerbaijani state and memory of the people forever, worked hard to see his nation happy and prosperous, and dedicated his life to this goal.

Leading Azerbaijan to the path of prosperity, he has a matchless role in establishing and strengthening the independence of Azerbaijan, in increasing its international image, and in developing relations with a multitude of countries and nations of the world.

Building a modern state on a strong and solid foundation and on national values has been one of Heydar Aliyev's main policy directions. It was Heydar Aliyev who introduced the ideology of Azerbaijanism, which is one of nation's main ideological pillars.
