In response to the unstable weather conditions, the State Agency for Automobile Roads of Azerbaijan has deployed sufficient machinery and equipment to clear snow and prevent icing on streets and avenues in Baku, as well as on national highways, Azernews reports.

The Agency noted that snow removal and sand-spreading vehicles have been assigned to areas where traffic disruptions were observed. These vehicles have been actively working to clear snow and apply a mixture of salt and sand on the affected roads. As a result, traffic safety and continuity have been ensured.

The machinery and workforce of the State Agency for Automobile Roads of Azerbaijan monitored areas most affected by snow and ice overnight. During the night and early morning hours, salt-sand mixtures were spread on icy roads to guarantee safety and smooth traffic flow.

"Thanks to the preventive measures taken throughout the night and morning hours on the streets of Baku and national highways, no problems were observed in the movement of vehicles. As unstable weather conditions persist, the roads will remain under surveillance, and proactive measures will be taken to ensure the safe and uninterrupted movement of vehicles," the Agency's statement said.

Additionally, the night before, under the leadership of Saleh Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the State Agency for Automobile Roads, an urgent meeting was held with senior officials of the Agency to discuss and plan snow removal and anti-icing efforts. During the meeting, decisions were made to deploy sufficient machinery and equipment to problem areas, with instructions issued to relevant departments to quickly resolve any difficulties and maintain the safety and smooth flow of traffic.
