The UK House of Lords has hosted the annual Christmas charity meeting of the Anglo-Azerbaijani Society (www.anglo-azerbaijani-society.com) and celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Society.
Participants at the event included co-chair of the Anglo-Azerbaijani Society Lord German on behalf of the UK, co-chair of the Anglo-Azerbaijani society on behalf of Azerbaijan, academician Nargiz Pashayeva, members of the Executive Committee of the Society and the British Parliament, employees of the diplomatic corps accredited in London, local and foreign businessmen and Azerbaijani students studying in the UK.
In his opening remarks, Lord German expressed his gratitude to co-chair of the society on behalf of Azerbaijan Nargiz Pashayeva for her outstanding contribution to the activity of the organization.
Addressing the event, co-chair of the Anglo-Azerbaijani society on behalf of Azerbaijan Nargiz Pashayeva thanked those who have been actively involved in the activity of the society and who have worked with love and perseverance in its projects over the years.
Nargiz Pashayeva congratulated the participants on the upcoming New Year.
In his remarks, Azerbaijani Ambassador to the UK Tahir Taghizade hailed the 20th anniversary and achievements of the Anglo-Azerbaijani Society, and lauded its support to developing cultural ties and bringing the two countries closer to each other. He thanked Nargiz Pashayeva, Lord German and other members of the society for their great contributions to the successful development of the organization and congratulated them on the jubilee.
Following the event, co-chair of the Anglo-Azerbaijani Society on behalf of Azerbaijan Nargiz Pashayeva highlighted the Society's activities and its humanitarian and charitable work over 20 years of its establishment.
