Asan Imza mobile e-signature service has been integrated into the government payment portal.

The users of the portal will now be able to enter the website using mobile ID Asan Imza and carry out payments on more than 220 services rendered by government organizations and over 330 services provided by 21 institutions represented on the portal.

Such payments include paying of taxes, other state dues, mortgage fees, public utilities and communication services and others.

An Asan Imza is essentially the SIM-card of mobile phone connected to certificates, which constitute a document equal to a physical ID-card in the electronic environment. With this service, users are able to prove their identity and digitally sign documents.

The government payment portal, established by Central Bank of Azerbaijan, aims to ensure real-time electronic payments on services rendered by government authorities within the process of establishing of Electronic government.

The e-government portal in Azerbaijan featured a function for convenient online payment from September.

The objectives of the project are to increase the use of non-cash payments, simplifying the process of budget payments, and the integration of e-government projects with the infrastructure of the national payment system.

It is also expected that the local municipalities will be connected to the Automated Payment Utility Service of the state payment portal in the next six months. Now the municipalities have a greater need for access to a system of online payments, namely receiving payments for rendered services.

All services provided by Azerbaijani government agencies are expected to be online by 2020.
