Azerbaijan will once again welcome cyclists from all over the world at the Tour d'Azerbaidjan cycling competition.

The UCI 2.1 five-day Tour d’Azerbaidjan stage race will start on May 4 in Baku and finish on May 8.

Highlights of every stage of the Tour d'Azerbaidjan-2016 will be shown on Eurosport, with more extensive reviews of every stage broadcast on Eurosport 2.

“We're really happy with this opportunity to showcase both the race and our country to an international audience through the Eurosport channels,” said Farhad Aliyev, General Secretary of the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation.

Eurosport will show 15 minutes of highlights of every stage after the live broadcast of the Giro d'Italia, and Eurosport 2 will show a longer review of 60 minutes every evening. The day after the final stage of the Tour d'Azebraidjan, Eurosport 2 will broadcast a summary of the whole Tour during a broadcast of 60 minutes.

In 2015, Eurosport broadcasted daily highlights of the race and showed three of the five stages live, to a large international audience, reaching 32 million unique viewers.

“We hope that with this year's broadcasts again reach a big international audience, and we're confident about this because of the quality of the race and the broadcast that Eurosport provides,” Aliyev noted.

The Professional Continental rank will be represented by BORA-Argon 18 Pro Cycling Team (Germany), DRAPAC Professional Cycling (Australia), Team Roth (Switzerland), Gazprom RusVelo (Russia), Team Novo Nordisk (USA) and Southeast Pro Cycling Team (Italy).
