Kazakhstan blocks foreign websites
Kazakhstan blocked around 54 foreign websites according to Astana's court decision, the Information Space Monitoring Department of the Kazakh Communication and Information Agency reported.
The websites rendering online casino services were blocked. Moreover, the access to 12 files at 10 foreign websites, which promote cruelty and violence, were also blocked, the agency reported on September 12.
In general, the Kazakh judicial bodies made decisions on 23 cases concerning 652 websites.
The owners of 229 websites removed illegal content proceeding from the letters of notification in 2014, according to the report.
An internet resource belongs to the mass media and the information contained there is the product of the media according to paragraphs 4 and 5, Article 1 of the Kazakh Law "On mass media".
