Georgia's tax policy mulled with IMF

Georgia's Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri met with the members of the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) technical assistance mission on June 11.

The parties discussed Georgia's tax policy and the measures to be taken by this country's government to create a healthy tax system that in turn will contribute to the economic growth and equitable redistribution of revenues, the ministry reported.

The meeting was also attended by deputies of Georgia's finance minister, David Lezhava and Lasha Khutsishvili, head of the Tax Policy Department of the Finance Ministry, Mamuka Baratashvili and IMF Resident Representative in Georgia Azim Sadykov.

IMF technical assistance mission has arrived in Tbilisi at the invitation of the country's finance minister with a two-day visit.
