Baku changes working regime

Baku will change its working hours ahead of the first European Games from May 1 to July 1.

Business hours of government bodies and non-governmental organizations will be changed to ensure smooth and safe traffic, as well as full mobility of the workforce and spectators of the historic sports event.

The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers stated on April 1, that government officials, departments and agencies (except for employees of educational institutions and persons on duty) will operate on the following schedule: 25 percent of employees - from 8:00 to 17:00, 25 percent - from 8: 30 to 17:30, 25 percent - from 9:00 to 18:00, 25 percent - from 9:30 to 18:30.

Employees of private institutions and organizations (except for employees of educational institutions and persons on duty) will operate on the following schedule: 50 percent of employees - from 8:00 to 17:00, and 50 percent - from 8:30 to 17:30.

Moreover, Baku citizens will also be informed through the media how to prevent cases of illegal parking in the capital that cause traffic jams.

The grandiose sport event will start in 72 days in the brand new Olympic Stadium. The stadium can host 68,000 spectators.

An exciting and innovative new multi-sport event this year will include 20 sports, 16 of which are Olympic, during the 17 days of competition in June 12-28. 6,000 athletes will prove themselves in Baku.
