Azerbaijan bags two more medals in Special Olympics

The Special Olympics EU Games 2014 is running in Antwerp, Belgium.

Azerbaijani team, which is participating in six events in the Olympics, gained another two medals.

Athlete Niyazi Ismailov did his best in badminton event and won the gold medal in the Games.

Another Azerbaijani sportsman claimed the silver medal in the same event.

Earlier, in the mixed doubles events in table tennis the duo of Habib Tagiyev and Vusala Burjuyeva took the first place, while in badminton competition Tofa Musayeva became the second.

More than 2,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities from 58 countries of Europe and Eurasia are competing at the Games, enjoying 12 days full of joy and friendship. The athletes are competing in 11 sports and are invited to join 5 supporting programs.

The Olympics will last until September 20.
