French foreign minister plans official visit to Kazakhstan
French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius plans to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan on March 1-2, the official representative of the Central Communications Service under Kazakh President Altai Abibulaev said at a briefing on Monday.
"During the visit, Fabius is expected to meet with President Nazarbayev and hold the talks with Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov and Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov," Abibullaev said.
He also plans to visit the Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering plant which is a joint venture.
Abibulaev added that France is one of the important strategic, political, economic partners of Kazakhstan in Europe. Trade turnover between the two countries exceeded $6.2 billion in 2012.
