Azerbaijani-Dutch ties highlighted

Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met Dutch Ambassador to the country Robert Jan Gabrielsen upon the termination of his diplomatic term, Azertac reported.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations over the past years. They also highlighted favorable opportunities for further enhancement of cooperation.
During the meeting fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the fields of environment, agriculture, emergency situations, logistics and others was also underlined.
The ambassador expressed his gratitude for the support to fulfill his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan successfully.
Mammadyarov extended his appreciation to the Ambassador for his contributions to the development of relations between the two countries.
The relations between the Netherlands and Azerbaijan have
strengthened over the past years. About 112 companies with Dutch
capitals operate in Azerbaijan, in the spheres of shipbuilding,
logistics, ecology and banking.
Earlier the Netherlands showed an interest in cooperation with
Azerbaijan in agriculture, in particular water industry and lake
water purification.
The trade turnover between the Netherlands and Azerbaijan amounted to $44.71 million in the first quarter of 2016, $21.65 million of which fell on exports to this country, according to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
