By Amina Nazarli
Starting this year, Flower Festival celebrated across Azerbaijan every May 10, will be held in different format. The colorful holiday, celebrated since 2004, from now on will focus on importance of ecological protection.
The holiday will be celebrated by planting flowers at all parks and gardens of the capital, according to the Baku City Executive Power’s decision.
Alongside the beautification in Baku, this decision will also encourage people to think about their roles in the protection of nature.
Previously, the holiday was celebrated in the Heydar Aliyev Park and was marked with a display of flowers from all over the world, some of which are made into large floral mounts and arrangements.
Hundreds of different kinds of beautiful flowers from all over the world including Brazil, France, Turkey, Holland, Italy and China decorated the park, giving it an excellent spring mood.
During this year’s festival, different organizations and
citizens will be able to demonstrate their abilities and talents in
creating ikebana.
The Baku Executive Power invites everyone to come to the capital’s
parks and gardens on May 10 to demonstrate their abilities in
creating unusual wreaths, bouquets and flower arrangements.
