Briefing on Azerbaijan held at NATO
NATO’s headquarters has hosted a briefing entitled "The protection of critical energy infrastructure of Azerbaijan: Achievements and Challenges".
The briefing was conducted by the teacher of the department of diplomacy and modern integration processes of the Baku State University (BSU) Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli.
The event was held in Industrial Resources and Communications Services Group of Civil Emergency Planning Committee (CEPC) of NATO, the Representation of Azerbaijan to NATO reported.
The briefing informed the Group about Azerbaijan's energy projects and safety, achievements and challenges on protection of critical energy infrastructure, NATO's role and prospects for cooperation in this field.
The International Secretariat, representatives of member and partner countries of NATO attended the event. The participants stressed the strategic partnership of Azerbaijan in a number of areas with NATO.
NATO and Azerbaijan are actively cooperating on democratic,
institutional, and military reforms, and enjoy practical
cooperation in various areas.
The cooperation plan between Azerbaijan and the NATO is set out in
the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) on Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan aspires to achieve Euro-Atlantic standards and get closer to Euro-Atlantic institutions. In this regard, supporting reform in the security sector and establishing democratic institutions are the key elements of the NATO-Azerbaijan cooperation.
