Azerbaijan to continue supporting Great Silk Way Int’l Youth Union

"Azerbaijan's government will continue supporting the interesting ideas of the Great Silk Way International Youth Union, "the country's Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov said during the third meeting of the Great Silk Road International Youth Union in Thessaloniki, Greece on June 19.
Rahimov praised the participation of young people from around 28 countries in this meeting.
"This new platform has confirmed itself as an ideal platform for youth's movements across the globe in a very short time. It also accomplished many projects by increasing its ranks," he said.
He invited the participants to take part in the Global Forum on Youth Policies that will be held in Baku in October at the initiative of the UN.
During his visit to Greece, Rahimov held meetings with the mayor of Thessaloniki, Yannis Butaris and the Minister for Macedonia and Thrace Georgios Orfanos.
The "Great Silk Way" International Youth Union aims to coordinate activities of youth organizations, as well as to represent and protect common interests of the countries historically located on the silk route. The main objective and scope of the activities of the organization is to create a ground for intercultural and interreligious dialogue and to expand cooperation on globalization issues.
