Heydar Aliyev Foundation presents joint charity project in U.S.

A joint project by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the charitable organization Save a Child's Heart was presented in Washington.

A special presentation ceremony was opened by Daniel Mariaschin, the Vice-President of the B'nai B'rith International organization, where the event was held.

He highly appreciated the cooperation built between the foundation and the organization.

David Litwack, Executive Director of the organization Save a Child's Heart, provided information about the organization he was representing, adding that the organization's center was located in Israel.

Litwack said due to the cooperation with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan will be the 49th country that the organization will cooperate with.

He stressed that over 2,000 children's life was saved so far by physicians due to the support provided to this organization, founded in 1995.

"Due to the partnership relations built with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijani children born with severe cardiac failure may be operated at the Wolfson Medical Center operating in Israel. Azerbaijani specialists will be trained within the project. Our organization is ready to provide support for the creation of a specialized medical center in Azerbaijan," he said.

Jamila Pashayeva-Seyidzadeh, the representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the USA, informed the attendees about the Foundation's activity.

She talked about the significance of cooperation with the Save a Child's Heart organization, and mentioned that Mehriban Aliyeva, Azerbaijan's First Lady and President of the Foundation, is a physician by profession, and has therefore shown special attention and care to projects in the field of healthcare, particularly treating children, and these works were the focus of her attention.

Pashayeva-Seyidzadeh said this project will strengthen the existing bridges between Azerbaijan, the U.S. and Israel further.

The event attendees watched a documentary about the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and acquainted themselves with the publications of the Foundation on various subjects.

Advisor to Azerbaijan's Embassy in the U.S. Fakhraddin Ismayilov said the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's share in Azerbaijan's international charity activities is significant.

Deputy advisor to the Israeli Embassy in the USA Eli Groner and President of the US Representative Office of Save a Child's Heart Barry Perlis highly appreciated the cooperation built between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Save a Child's Heart organization.

Prior to the event, Pashayeva-Seyidzadeh met with head of the U.S. Board of Directors Save a Child's Heart Francis Cook.

Cooperation prospects between the organizations were discussed at the meeting.
