Azerbaijan expects best results from figure skating at Sochi Olympics

Azerbaijan expects the best results from figure skating at the XXII Olympic Winter Games to be held in Sochi, Russia.
Vice-President of Azerbaijani National Olympic Committee, Chingiz Huseynzade made the remark on February 4.
Skaters Alexei Sitnikov and Julia Zlobina as well as alpine skiers Patrick Brahner and Gaia Bassani Antivari will struggle in this Olympic Games for Azerbaijan.
He said the Azerbaijani sportsmen are already in Sochi and preparing for the competitions.
"It is a sport in which it is impossible to predict anything in advance. We will try for the athletes to be among the 12 best," Huseynzade said.
He added that the Sochi Olympics will positively affect the development of winter sports in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov, Chingiz Huseynzade and representatives of the sports community would participate in the opening ceremony of the Games which will kick off on February 7.
Azerbaijan had been participating in the Winter Olympic Games since 1998 in skiing and figure skating sports.
The Winter Olympic Games 2014 will last until February 23 in Sochi in Krasnodar, the third largest region in Russia.
