Employees of Azerbaijani embassy returned to Cairo – envoy
The employees of the Azerbaijani embassy returned to Cairo after stability had relatively been ensured in Egypt, Azerbaijani ambassador to Cairo Shahin Abdullayev told the Egyptian online newspaper Al-Badil, AzerTag state news agency reported.
In his interview the diplomat expressed confidence that Egypt would manage to handle its problems soon, adding "those forces, who want to create chaos in the country, would not reach their goals".
Abdullayev compared the current situation in Egypt with the situation in Azerbaijan after the collapse of the Soviet Union and in the face of Armenian aggression.
He said that leaving those problems behind, Azerbaijan`s economy rapidly developed and the country`s strategic currency reserves hit $48 billion.
On Azerbaijan`s role in energy security, the diplomat pointed out that the country made huge contribution in this regard, adding the country reached rapid progress in non-oil sector.
Abdullayev also highlighted upcoming presidential election in Azerbaijan, saying 10 candidates are bidding for presidency.
