UN: Azerbaijan enhances efforts towards sustainable democratic development
Azerbaijan is enhancing efforts aimed at sustainable democratic development, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Antonius Broek says.
"Azerbaijan has committed itself to the core values of the United Nations, and continues to expand its efforts for sustainable democratic development," Brock said at the 1st South Caucasus Forum in Baku on Tuesday.
The 1st South Caucasus Forum organized by the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora, Nizami Ganjavi International Center and the Club of Madrid started in Baku on Tuesday.
According to Broek, Azerbaijan is at the forefront of development in the region. The country's economy is growing significantly, there are great developments. The GDP growth has reduced the poverty from 40 percent to 6 percent, the unemployment rate declined, he said.
