Iran issues diplomatic note to Azerbaijan
Iran has sent a diplomatic note to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, spokesman for the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan Mohammad Ayatollahi said on Thursday,Trend news agency reported.
He said that the protest has been connected with co-chair of the World Azerbaijanis Congress Sabir Rustamkhanli's statement at a recent conference on "Relations between the south and the north of Azerbaijan, the current situation, prospects and challenges", organized at the initiative of the Congress.
In his speech Rustamkhanli proposed to create a state of South Azerbaijan in Iran's territory.
Ayatollahi said that the note has been sent for thorough consideration of the issue.
