OIC thanks Azerbaijan for financial aid
Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, has sent a note of thanks to Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
Ihsanoglu thanked Azerbaijan for providing financial assistance to this authoritative organization, and appreciated this step, the foreign ministry said.
Ihsanoglu's note of thanks says that from the very outset of its membership in the OIC, Azerbaijan provided efficient support to the organization. In 2006-2007, Azerbaijan as chairman of the Foreign Ministers Committee of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, played a significant role in fulfillment of a ten-year action plan of the organization.
Ihsanoglu assured Mammadyarov that Azerbaijan's aid to the OIC will focus on fulfillment of the decisions of the summits and conferences of the organization.
