Azerbaijan's well-known folklore expert is set to take part in the third All-Russian Congress of Folklorists slated for February 3-8 in Moscow.

The congress will be focused on finding some real mechanisms for the restoration of Russian folklore, ethnography and applied arts.

Statements of heads of the ritual folklore and mythology departments of the Azerbaijan's Institute of Folklore Aghaverdi Khalilov and Seyfaddin Rzasoy are included in the program of the congress, which consist of over 400 reports.

The program of the congress includes seminars and workshops of famous workers of folk art, performances of original folk music groups and people's choirs, an exhibition of arts and crafts, and a book fair. The folklore films festival will also enrich the event.

Along with the sections, round tables, debating clubs dedicated to the topical issues of folklore and traditional culture, training seminars, and master classes of known figures of folk are planned to be held in the frame of the congress.

The congress is organized by the State Republican Center of Russian Folklore of the Russian Ministry of Culture.

"An enormous amount of factual materials were gathered, and the unique recordings of songs, dances, costumes and games were collected. It is necessary to provide the younger generation with the training courses. Traditional culture is the most accessible means for raising a person," Anatoly Kargin, head of the State Republican Center of Russian Folklore believes.

Previous congresses, held in 2006 and 2010, became the largest forums in the scientific life of folklorists, ethnologists, philologists, anthropologists, fine art experts, ethnic musicians and other researches of traditional culture.
