Dmitry Bertman to present gala concert in Baku

"The Enduring Love" gala concert by Russian People's Artist Dmitry Bertman will be presented at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku on November 2.
The program includes popular romantic tunes of the 20th century, especially of the 1960s, together with lyrical pieces cherished by several generations.
Along with this, some legendary hits of the Beatles, Marilyn Monroe, Tina Turner, Demis Roussos, Adriano Celentano, Elton John, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and other stars will be presented by the artists.
Pieces such as "All You Need is Love", "I believe in Love", "Je Suis Malade", "Only You", "Lady in Red", and "Love me tender", which are recognized and adored from the first notes, will also be performed at the concert.
On November 3, the center will show the "Siberia" opera by Italian composer Umberto Giordano, which narrates of the life in Russia.
The opera is about a tragic love story of two young characters starting in St.Petersburg, Russia's royal capital, and ending up in exile on the other end of the huge Empire. The piece directed by Dmitry Bertman has already been successfully performed at the theater stage for seven years.
Dmitry Bertman is a stage director, a holder of the several Orders, including the Order of Friendship of Russia, the Officier des Palmes Academiques of France, the Maltese Cross and the title of Count of Sovereign Military and Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta, and the Order of the Cross of Maria Land.
Bertman's stage-directing work is in great demand all over the world. According to his website, among his recent works are "Il Re Nudo" by L. Lombardi in Rome Opera (2009), "Rusalka" by A. Dvorak in Canadian opera in Toronto (2009), "The Love for Three Oranges" in "Estonia" theatre in Tallinn (2010).
The Swedish Royal Opera offered Bertman to stage all of Tchaikovsky's operas (but only two productions were realized: "Eugene Onegin" in 2005 and "The Queen of Spades" in 2009). At the end of 2010 the successful premiere of "Andrea Chenier" by U. Giordano took place in the Swedish Royal Opera. In February 2011 Dmitry Bertman staged Verdi's "Otello" on the stage of the Norrland's Opera in the Swedish city of Umeo.
