Mezcal Festival coming to Baku

The Embassy of Mexico in Baku aims at promoting Mexican culture in Azerbaijan through conducting interesting events and concerts.
One of such events is the Mezcal Festival, first held in Baku in October-November 2015. This celebration has become a cultural custom that brings people to know the mezcal, a traditional Mexican drink, its production stages and current role in the national economy.
The festival opened on October 31 will last till November 5, 2016. The event opened on the collaboration of the Embassy of Mexico in Azerbaijan with Intourist Hotel, Fairmount Hotel, Landmark Hotel, Maya Restaurant, Idkhal Ltd.

Culture of Mezcal, Mr. Sergio Inurrigarro has visited Baku.
With more than 100 brands, mezcal has gained ground in Mexico and the world, which is shown with annual growth in exports of 40 percent.
Mexico, with a production of 2 million liters, exported one million liters per year, mainly to the United States, Chile, Spain, United Kingdom and Germany. It is a growing industry with strong growth, with 15,000 farmers and 29,000 jobs.
