On the first day of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), hosted by Azerbaijan, reliable transportation connections were provided through 18 HUBs, and a total of 35,000 passengers were transported, Azernews reports, citing the Azerbaijan Ground Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

It was noted that changes made to the routes of several regular bus lines and their final destinations did not hinder passengers from reaching their destinations. The passenger transport operation, involving 350 AYNA employees, included a total of 4,000 trips.

Thanks to proper shuttle coordination, passengers were transported comfortably and safely from Heydar Aliyev International Airport to the "28 May" and "Ahmedli" metro stations by H1 and H2 express buses, respectively.

AYNA emphasized that all transportation services were provided free of charge, and lost items were quickly located and returned to their owners. The use of electric taxis and buses, which play a significant role in ensuring environmental sustainability, highlighted Baku's commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection.

"The high level of organization and management of the overall transportation experience gained the satisfaction of event participants and city residents. The absence of any incidents is proof of the high preparedness and professionalism of all services involved in organizing the transportation. This event not only strengthened Baku's image as an international platform for discussing critical climate policy issues but also demonstrated the capabilities of modern public transportation systems that can meet the demands of international events," the report stated.
