Classic cars displayed in Baku

The Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku has opened another unique exhibition, a show of classic cars on February 23.
The exhibition, co-organized by the Automobile Federation of Azerbaijan, collections of Classic Remise (Germany) and "Schlumpf" (France), as well as the National Museum of cars, features cars produced in Germany, USA, France, Italy, Great Britain and the former Soviet republics since the inception of the automotive industry - that is, from the end of the 19th century.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Richard Keller, Deputy Director of the National Automobile Museum of France, informed the visitors about the collection of his museum. He noted that the basis of this collection makes the Schlumpf brothers collection, that includes cars produced in different years.
Horst Campan, Curator of the international exhibition noted the uniqueness of the collection demonstrated at the exhibition.
He said that rich history of Azerbaijan is notable for its oil
industry, and the development of this particular sector has
contributed to the development of automotive industry in the
world.
Visitors of the exhibition can have an excursion into the history
of the automotive industry, as well as get acquainted with the
stages of development of the automotive industry.
The exhibition, which also will present an extensive collection
of exhibits demonstrates road signs, publications about cars and
other accessories related to different periods, and video, prepared
on the basis of archival materials.
On the eve of the exhibition, the Azerbaijan Auto Federation
published a book about the history of cars - “With four wheels into
history”.
The exhibition will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
