Enjoy national music at YARAT

YARAT Freestyle invites everyone to enjoy live performance of Azerbaijan’s national music on April 20.
The concert program is prepared by violin player Jahandar Mikayilov and drummer Soltan Aliyev.
Jahandar Mikayilov was born in 1994. He graduated from “Violin” course of “National musical instruments” major at Music College named after Asef Zeynalli. Musician successfully performed at concerts during several international tours such as in Ankara, Trabzon, Giresun and Ordu (Turkey) as well as, Rome, Como, Iran, Spain and Russia.
Soltan Aliyev graduated from “Drums” course of “National musical instruments” major at Music College named after Asef Zeynalli. Later, he continued his education with bachelor and masters degrees at the State Culture and Fine Arts University. He participated in numerous international concert tours. Currently, Soltan Aliyev works at Folklore Institute of the National Academy of Sciences.

YARAT is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to nurturing an understanding of contemporary art in Azerbaijan and to creating a platform for Azerbaijani art, both nationally and internationally. Based in Baku, YARAT (meaning CREATE in Azerbaijani) was founded by Aida Mahmudova in 2011.
YARAT realizes its mission through an on-going program of exhibitions, education events and festivals. YARAT facilitates exchange between local and international artistic networks including foundations, galleries and museums.
