Azerbaijan is one of best performing world economies : Belgian MP
Azerbaijan is a country with incredible opportunities for Europe, said MP Philippe Blanchart, member of the Committee of Foreign Relations and Defense of the Federal Parliament of Belgium, while answering questions from the European Azerbaijan Society.
"Azerbaijan is a country with incredible opportunities for Belgium and Europe. Besides, its geo-strategic and geopolitical importance, the country and its people distinguish themselves from other countries in the South Caucasus by their willingness to turn to Europe. This openness is really extraordinary and offers the country a real window to Europe and the world. But what is really special about Azerbaijan, is definitely its cultural diversity and religious tolerance. Indeed, we have here a country with a rich cultural patrimony and a philosophical open-minded spirit," Blanchart said.
He said that Azerbaijan's economy has been one of the best performing ones in the entire world over the past decade.
"Azerbaijani will continue to remain as an economic key-player for Europe in the near future. This economic drive is crucial to continue to build a society based on international democratic values," he said.
