UEFA Champions Leagur: Real Madrid beat Galatasaray

Real Madrid look on course for a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League following a 3-0 quarter-final first leg defeat of Galatasaray, while Malaga and Borussia Dortmund played out a scoreless draw in Wednesday's other tie.
Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Real at the Bernabeu
after just eight minutes and Karim Benzema doubled the home side's
lead just before the half-hour mark. Substitute Gonzalo Higuain
headed home a Xabi Alonso free-kick on 73 minutes to make it 3-0
for Jose Mourinho's side.
German champions Dortmund remain on course for a place in the
tournament's semi-finals for the first time since 1998 after
securing a 0-0 draw away to Spanish side Malaga. However, Dortmund
coach Juergen Klopp is likely to be disappointed as his side missed
a host of chances.
