Dashnaksutyun says violations, bribery revealed during voting in Armenia

Armenian Revolutionary Federation 'Dashnaksutyun' came out with a statement regarding the results of the elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan held on Sunday, promising residents of Yerevan and all Armenian citizens not to retreat from its principle positions, Mediamax reported.

"We held our campaign with sincerity and trust, trying to give residents of Yerevan the opportunity of ideological and programmatic choice. But once again the merger of the state and the ruling party, unlimited use of administrative resources, widespread bribery did their job," the statement says.

Monopoly of the authorities strengthened even more, and now they have the opportunity to rule the country and Yerevan alone, it said.

"We will wait for the official results, although they are predictable for us," the statement says.

According to the preliminary data, the ruling Armenian Republican Party, which gained 55.89 percent (235,512 votes) won the elections after the ballots from all 464 constituencies were considered.

Civil Society Institute public organization conducted an observation mission at the elections to Yerevan's Council of Elders. It revealed many irregularities during the voting.
