Turkish gas distribution network to be privatized next month

Turkish gas distribution network in Ankara, Başkent Doğalgaz, will be privatized by late of the next month, Turkish Privatization Agency's (OIB) website reported on Friday, Trend news agency reported.

All proposals on the privatization are accepted until Jan.18, 2013, and later a winner of the tender will be determined.

It also reported that 100-percent share of Başkent Doğalgaz will be privatized.

Earlier, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz reported that Turkey intends to continue the policy of privatization of the energy sector, in particular in electricity and gas distribution sectors.

"Turkey has put three electricity distribution companies for privatization. It is planned to privatize several more distribution companies in other regions of the country," Yildiz said.

Turkey's incomes from privatization of state property in 2012 are expected at $3.7 billion, the OIB said earlier.
