Azerbaijan joins ECOSOC

Azerbaijan has been elected as a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for 2017-2019.
This decision has been made as a result of elections at the UN General Assembly.
Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry reported that the country has been supported by 176 countries from 185 to be elected as a member of the ECOSOC for 2017-2019.
Azerbaijan's membership at the ECOSOC will last from January 2017 until December 31, 2019.
