Tehran-Baku relations steadily developing

Iran`s ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsun Pakayin has hailed his country`s relations with Azerbaijan.
Speaking at a meeting on international relations held in Gilan, the ambassador said Iranian-Azerbaijani relations are steadily developing, AzerTag state news agency reported.
"The political will of the two countries` presidents plays an important role in development of these relations. The current economic and cultural relations, fruitful cooperation is a result of the political will of the heads of state. These ties will be beneficial for both nations," he said.
Pakayin further said the bilateral relations between Iran and Azerbaijan are based on good neighborhood principle.
He also hailed the bilateral trade, saying Iran exports agricultural products and building materials to Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan and Iran have had diplomatic relations since 1918. Iran recognized Azerbaijan's independence in 1991, and diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1992.
