Need to create fund to strengthen ties with overseas Azerbaijanis Parliament of Azerbaijan- Milli Mejlis member, Sabir Rustamkhanli proposed creation of a fund for strengtheningties with Azerbaijanis living abroad on November 14.
The MP made the remarks at the Milli Majlis plenary session which discussed the draft law "On the State Budget of Azerbaijan" for 2014.
According to Rustamkhanli,such a fund is needed for strengthening ties with Azerbaijanis living abroad,as well as for organizing the education of Azerbaijani youth living abroad and in the homeland.
"We cannot invite a single Azerbaijani from South Azerbaijan or even from Europe to study in the country. One million manats are needed to provide the education of about 500 children in Azerbaijan each year. This is one of the main lines of our strategy. Therefore we would like the Ministry of Finance to create the necessary conditions possible for the solution of this issue," the MP said.
