Azerbaijan expands Sumqayıt Chemical Industrial Park

Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed a decree ensuring the implementation of President Ilham Aliyev’s August 11, 2025, order on the expansion of the Sumqayıt Chemical Industrial Park, Azernews reports.
The decree stipulates that the Sumqayıt City Executive Authority, in coordination with the Ministry of Economy, must allocate 26.6676 hectares of state-owned land in Sumqayıt’s Sülh Avenue—currently under the use of “Azərboru” JSC—for the Development Agency of Economic Zones. The land, designated for industrial, transportation, communication, defense, and other purposes, will be provided for use with lease rights within two months. The Executive Authority is also required to report the progress to the Cabinet of Ministers and address all matters arising from the decree.
The implementation of the decree has been assigned to the Agrarian and Ecology Department of the Cabinet of Ministers’ Apparatus.
