Chile-Azerbaijan ties mulled
Deputy Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Bahar Muradova has met chairman of Chile-Azerbaijan Friendship Group at the Senate of the Republic of Chile Ivan Barros Moreira, Azertac reported.
Muradova highlighted the purposes of the referendum, adding the Government of Azerbaijan carried out consistent reforms in the country for strengthening the statehood.
The Deputy Speaker spoke about the activity of the Friendship Group operating in both countries` parliaments.
She further provided an insight into the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and called the Senate of Chile to support justice and fairness. She said territorial integrity and sovereignty of the countries must be protected for restoring the peace in the modern world.
Ivan Barros Moreira, in turn, highlighted the importance of Azerbaijan for the region, adding they supported the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
Ivan Barros Moreira said Chile does not recognize the Nagorno-Karabakh as a Republic.
They exchanged views on issues of boosting bilateral cooperation.
