Azerbaijani cooks successful at int'l championship

Azerbaijani cooks have made another great success at the traditional international festival of culinary art, "Commonwealth", held in Kislovodsk, Russia last week.
Fifteen teams from Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries participated at the contest, head of Azerbaijan`s National Culinary Center Tahir Amiraslanov, who was an independent expert at the event, told journalists at a briefing on Tuesday.
The Azerbaijani team consisting of four cooks, led by chief technologist Emma Abdullayeva, competed in six individual contests and a team competition, Amiraslanov said.
Of the Azerbaijani representatives, Azer Gadirov won the silver medal, while Araz Ahmedov - the bronze medal, and Anar Gubanov was awarded a diploma for the preparation of the best starters. Furthermore, Gadirov, Gubanov, Ahmedov and Roman Rodin won the cup at the team competition.
Also, the Azerbaijani team was awarded a certificate granting it
the right to take any pastry course at the Academy of Culinary Arts
"Exclusive".
The Azerbaijani team's participation in the championship was
supported by the Culture and Tourism Ministry of Azerbaijan.
Products of Azerbaijani company Azersun Holding were used at the
championship.
The Commonwealth festival has been held since 2002 in the resort
town of Kislovodsk. Cooks and confectioners, masters of service
from all subjects of the North Caucasus, Moscow, the Rostov, Samara
and Sverdlovsk regions, and also guests from Azerbaijan and
Kazakhstan show the culinary art.
