Art of playing with kamancha to be discussed in Aghdash

Read moreA meeting with Honored Artist, Associate Professor of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, and kamancha performer Elnur Ahmadov will take place at Gabil Aliyev Children's Music School No. 1 in the city of Aghdash on December 11, Azernews reports.
The event is organized in the framework of the project "Sənətkarın dostu" (Friend of Artist), initiated by the Culture Ministry's Scientific-Methodological and Qualification Center of Culture with the support of the Central Aran Regional Cultural Department.
The meeting in the city of Aghdash will be dedicated to the kamancha musical instrument, the tradition of performing on it, the role of kamancha in the development of professional musical culture, pedagogical activity, and will also discuss stimulating the creativity of children and youth.
In 2017, the "Art of crafting and playing with Kamantcheh/Kamancha, a bowed string musical instrument" was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
