Azerbaijan water polo team wins gold medal in Brest

The Azerbaijani national water polo team, consisting of athletes born between 1998-1999, won the gold medal at an international tournament in Brest, Magsad Rahimov, spokesman for the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation, said on August 27.
At the end of the three-day tournament, the Azerbaijani team defeated Polish team and gained the gold medal.
The teams of Poland, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Russia and Belarus also took part in the tournament.
The Polish team ranked second, Belarus, the third, Latvia, the fourth respectively in the tournament.
Recently, the Azerbaijani swimmers Boris Kirillov and Yevgeny Lazuka participated in the European championship in Berlin, which took place on August 13-24.
Earlier, Rahimov said that the Azerbaijani swimmers and national water polo team will take part in various competitions and international tournaments prior to the 1st European Games to be held in Baku in 2015.
