Thirty two corporate teams have been determined who will participate in a mini-football championship Azfar Business League-ABL Cup 2017/18, a corporate tournament among Azerbaijani companies.

The ABL Cup 2017-2018 championship of such format and scale is held for the first time in Azerbaijan and will take place on the professional pitches of the AZFAR company.

In an interview with Trend, the Director General of ASEP (AZFAR SPORT EVENTS & PROMOTION) Andrei Sarychev noted that all 32 teams passed the necessary stages of filing applications and registration, signed contracts, determined the color scheme for the form, provided medical certificates and paid contributions for participating in the championship.

"One can get acquainted with information about every team, company's activities on the official website www.abl.az", he said.

"I would like to note the competent and professional work of lawyers and HR departments of companies, marketing and public relations departments, players and coaches who provided prompt assistance in the registration," said Andrei Sarychev.

"Coaches and team players are determined. They train intensively at the stadium where the championship will be held. The friendly meetings and consultations are being held," he added.

ASEP, for its part, has prepared a number of official events.

A ceremony of drawing lots will take place at Pullman Hotel, official partner of the championship.

The reception will be also organized as part of the event.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for October 28.

AZFARGROUP company, which is the general sponsor of this championship, specially singled out the stadium "Shafa", equipped with three fields covered with high-quality artificial grass, corresponding to FIFA standards. The games will be played in two fields, and the third field will be used by the teams to warm up.

A 20-minute diary will be launched on ATV channel , which will display all the most interesting, connected with the championship. In parallel, a number of social projects will be implemented. For example, all the balls produced specifically for this championship will be donated to orphanages.

Richard Almeida, a football midfielder currently playing for Azerbaijan’s FC Qarabag became the face of ABL Cup.
