UK supports democratic elected government, institutions in Turkey
UK supports the democratic elected government and institutions in Turkey, said Secretary of State for Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs, Boris Johnson during the phone conversation with Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
A coup attempt was launched in Turkey late on July 15 by a group of Turkish military servicemen.
There were reports saying that Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport was seized. Reports also indicated that 46 military men headed the attempt.
Later, Turkish officials announced that the attempt was foiled.
