YARAT announces literature evening

YARAT Contemporary Art Space invites everyone to the next meeting of Reading Club devoted to Azerbaijani fiction writers.
The event will be held at YARAT Contemporary Art Centre on December 14.
The Club will discuss the recently released fantastic almanac of Azerbaijani authors, inform about fiction genre’s past and present in Azerbaijan and touch upon the problems that modern writers of this genre are facing with.
Azerbaijan fantasy anthology which incorporated well-known Azerbaijani artists including authors who are new in that sphere was issued within the scope of “My story” porject with the financial support of Youth Foundation. The purpose of this project is to bring together authors who have interest in fiction and to familiarize the local readers with authors and their work.
During that night forming of literary school in fantasy, the screening of significant works and the questions on the impact of individual authors on this genre will be discussed.
Special guests of the night are Alexandr Khakimov, Rustam Huseynov, Nigar Kazim and Leila Samadzada.
YARAT is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to nurturing an understanding of contemporary art in Azerbaijan and to creating a platform for Azerbaijani art, both nationally and internationally. Based in Baku, YARAT (meaning CREATE in Azerbaijani) was founded by Aida Mahmudova in 2011. YARAT realises its mission through an on-going program of exhibitions, education events and festivals. YARAT facilitates exchange between local and international artistic networks including foundations, galleries and museums.
