President Aliyev opens facilities in Barda

President Ilham Aliyev has opened a number of facilities in Barda during his visit on March 12.

The head of state opened “ASAN xidmət” regional center of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations in Barda.

The construction of Barda “ASAN xidmət” regional center started last April and was completed this March. The four-storey center is located on the Heydar Aliyev Avenue close to city infrastructure facilities.

Barda “ASAN xidmət” regional center received an international certificate in accordance with OHSAS 18001: 2007 standard this year.

At present, there are eight “ASAN xidmət” centers in the country – four of them are located in Baku, others in Sumgayit, Ganja, Sabirabad and Barda.

The new facility will serve nearly 800,000 people in Barda, Aghdam, Aghjabadi, Lachin, Yevlakh and Tartar.

Barda “ASAN xidmət” regional center will employ 170 people, including 60 volunteers. There is a library, a cafe, a mother and child`s room, a children`s entertainment zone.

The head of state attended the opening of Garabagh Agrarian Industrial Park in Barda. The facility includes a 5,000 tons logistic center, cattle-breeding complexes, a meat cutting and processing factory, and a fodder plant.

Garabagh Agrarian Industrial Park created 300 jobs.

Large production, processing and infrastructure facilities have been built in the country using preferential loans provided by the National Fund for Entrepreneurship Support of the Ministry of Economy and Industry.

The fund granted nearly 70 million manats in loans to more than 2,000 entrepreneurs in Barda. This resulted in the creation of nearly 4,300 jobs in the region.

A cattle breeding complex in Turkmen village of Barda is one of the facilities whose establishment was funded by the Fund, which allocated 2.5 million manats to this end. The facility created 50 jobs.

Barda has also gained a new park-boulevard named after Heydar Aliyev.

The 2,400 long park-boulevard covers an area of 47 hectares, and will be expanded in the future. The length of the boulevard will be expanded to 4.3 km. The complex has two artificial lakes and 12 fountains linked by bridges.

A statue of national leader Heydar Aliyev was erected in the center of the park.

President Aliyev planted a tree in the park.

The 1.2km-road was built here for cycling lovers. The park-boulevard also has a 1,000 seat artificial grass stadium, an indoor hand games ground, a 1,000 seat summer cinema, a children’s entertainment center, a mother-child cafe, a two-storey tea house, trade and catering facilities and an administrative building.

The head of state was also informed about the layout of a new suspension bridge which will be built over the Tartar River. The length of the bridge will stand at 128 meters, and its width at 18.5 meters.

President Aliyev was also told of the draft layouts of the Garabagh state historical museum. The head of state viewed the remains of an ancient bridge in the park.

The president opened Mollaisalar-Valiushaghı-Mollaahmadli-Sarkarlar highway as part of his visit to the region.

The road was repaired following the allocation 5.8 million manats by the Contingency Fund of the President to the Executive Authority for the repair of the road under the order dated August 14, 2014.

The 15.5 km long highway links 11 villages with a total population of more than 10,000 people.

The head of state was also informed of indicators of the newly-repaired Alpoud-Mustafaaghalı-Nazırlı-Qaratepe road. It was noted that 4 million manats were allocated from the state budget for the reconstruction of this highway that links 14 villages with a population of more than 24,000 people.

President Aliyev also opened the Children’s Art School No. 1 in Barda.

The construction of the school started in early 2014 and ended this March. The three-storey Children’s Art School was supplied with all necessary equipment.

The school has 32 classrooms and other auxiliary rooms, and an auditorium.

During the visit, Aliyev reviewed a newly-built residential complex for 588 internally displaced families in Barda.

Ali Hasanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Committee on Refugees and IDPs, confirmed that IDP families, who were temporarily living in hostels in Barda, will be resettled in the new complex.

The new residential complex covered an area of 11 hectares. The complex has 588 apartments, a 640-seat school, a 140-seat kindergarten, an automatic telephone system and other administrative buildings.

This complex is the 90th residential area built for refugees and IDPs.

The head of state also reviewed the school and the kindergarten, where all conditions have been created.

As part of his visit, the president reviewed the progress of repair work at Barda Mausoleum.

The mausoleum was built by acclaimed representative of Azerbaijani school of architecture Ahmad bin Ayyub Al Hafiz Nakhchivani in 1322.

Restoration at the mausoleum started in 2011. Repair work has been carried out by the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
