Georgian FM on visit to U.S.
Georgia’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister, Giorgi Kvirikashvili is holding meetings in US Congress and Senate, Georgia-Online reported October 30.
The country’s foreign ministry said that Kvirikashvili met the Republican Party Congressman Mike Conaway and senators Orrin Hatch, John Cornyn.
Georgian foreign ministry also said the country’s strategic partnership with the US and the development of cooperation in various areas were also highlighted during the meeting with the American lawmakers.
Security in the region and Georgia was discussed as well.
The US congressmen, for their part, expressed particular support for Georgia’s aspiration to integrate into Euro-Atlantic structures.
