Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan ink new agreement
Azerbaijani delegation led by Emergency Situation Minister, Colonel-General Kemaleddin Heydarov paid a short-term official visit to Uzbekistan at the invitation of country’s Emergency Situations Minister Tursinkhan Khudaybergenov.
The delegations led by Heydarov and Khudaybergenov had a meeting in an expanded format on May 19.
The sides discussed the development of cooperation on emergency management between the relevant ministries of the two countries, issues of mutual interest on preparedness for natural and man-made disasters, the prospects for taking advantage of both countries’ experience in more effective response to disasters.
Then, the sides have signed the “Agreement on cooperation on prevention of emergency situations and elimination of their consequences between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan”.
Heydarov cut short his official visit to Uzbekistan and returned to Azerbaijan over the fire outbreak in a residential building in Baku’s Binagadi District on May 19, AzerTac state news agency reported
