German region indicates Nakhchivan as Armenian territory
Niedersachsen, one of Germany's 16 federal regions located in lower
Saxony, has indicated Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic
as Armenian territory in a map on the cover of a booklet prepared
by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport. It is
indicative that the booklet had been compiled specifically on the
occasion of a working visit by German representatives to Azerbaijan
and was distributed among local entrepreneurs and media
representatives to provide comprehensive information about the
ministry.
Commenting on the matter, a representative of the Germany-Azerbaijan economic assistance union DAWF, Ilaha Aliyeva, said the organization was aware of the fact and would officially appeal to the ministry over this.
She maintained that the development was not a serious problem, explaining the erroneous indication of Azerbaijani territory by the fact that Niedersachsen lacked information about Azerbaijan.
A delegation of German businessmen headed by Minister of Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport of the German State of Niedersachsen, Walter Hirche, is visiting Azerbaijan since Saturday.
The entrepreneurs working in oil and gas, construction, chemical industry, trade, finance, and air transport sectors attended the eighth joint business forum in Baku on Monday.
