World’s top physicists will gather in Baku for the Asia-Pacific Conference and Workshop on Quantum Information Science to be held on December 3-5.

The conference will hear nearly 50 lectures from local and foreign scientists, Azertac reported.

The event will be co-organized by the Institute of Physics of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), ANAS Presidium, and Science Development Fund under the President of Azerbaijan.

Quantum Information Science is now a well-established field of research, with interests spanning many traditional physics disciplines, including atomic and optical physics, quantum optics, many-body and low-temperature physics, condensed matter physics and solid state etc.

The Asia-Pacific Conference and Workshop on Quantum Information Science entertains submissions across the full range of subfields. It carries forward a series of conferences and workshops initiated by a pair of workshops in Singapore, in 2001 and 2003, and the first conference in Taiwan in 2004.

The conference has been previously held in Singapore, Republic of Korea, Australia, China, Israel, Malaysia, Taiwan and New Zealand.
