Baku-based "Natavan" gallery will host works by the Lithuanian artist Edita Suchockytė.

Entitled "The Touch", the exhibition is organized by the "Arts Council Azerbaijan" with the support of country's Culture and Tourism Ministry.

Graduated from the Academy of Arts, Vilnius artist Edita Suchockytė is known as a master of traditional etchings.

But her way to the world of graphics began much earlier, in 1993, when she entered the Academy. Edita says her first teacher in painting was her father - a famous artist, cartoonist and animator Vitalijus Suchockis.

As a very versatile artist, Suchockytė successfully creates works, characterized by distinctive elegant lines, interesting geometry and original location of the compositional elements. The artist is a big lover of travel, and highlights of her travels are invariably manifested as specific details in her works. For example, an African theme in her works will not leave anyone indifferent.

Azerbaijan became the new place of inspiration for the artist, bringing oriental motifs in her creativity, and enriching it with new ornaments.

The exhibition will be held on May 20-24. It would be open to public.
