Azerbaijani poet and translator Chingiz Alioghlu dies at 82
Azerbaijani poet and translator Chingiz Alioghlu has died at the age of 82.
Alioghlu died on Sunday morning, according to information confirmed by the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union, AzerNEWS reports, citing Azertag.
Born in Fuzuli in 1944, Alioghlu devoted decades to Azerbaijani literature, poetry and publishing. He became a member of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union in 1977 and was awarded the honorary title of Honoured Artist in 2005.
Alioghlu was widely recognised as a poet and translator and made a significant contribution to Azerbaijani literary life. His creative and literary work featured extensively in various publications devoted to Azerbaijani literature.
His death marks the loss of a prominent figure who spent decades contributing to the development and promotion of Azerbaijani poetry and literary culture.
