An exhibition of national costumes has opened in the National Museum of History.

The exhibition is co-organized by the Museum and National Center of the Educational technologies, Trend Life reported.

Director of the Museum Naila Velikhanli, doctor of arts, author of the exhibited costumes Sabina Dunyamaliyeva, curator of the exhibition and doctor of philosophy in history, Sabuhi Akhmadov addressed the ceremony and informed the guests about the exhibits.

They stressed that the exhibition aims at preservation of Azerbaijani-Turkic-Muslim culture in a globalizing world and ensure its transmission to future generations.

Along with costumes, the exhibition features historical photos from the museum's collection.

All the national costumes were created on the basis of studies conducted by Sabina Dunyamaliyeva in museums of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Iran. The studies covered Azerbaijani costumes of the late 19th - early 20th centuries.

Then the participants of the event got acquainted with the exhibits.

The exhibition will last until October 1.
