WB to appoint manager for Azerbaijan in autumn

The World Bank's new country manager for Azerbaijan will be presented to the country's government in September 2016, Mercy Tembon, WB regional director for the South Caucasus, told Trend June 14 in an exclusive interview.

Tembon is in Azerbaijan on a working visit until June 15.

The candidacy of the WB's new manager in Azerbaijan has not been approved yet, she said.

The office term of the WB country manager for Azerbaijan, Larisa Leshchenko, will expire in late June 2016.

World Bank's country manager is usually appointed for three years, but this term can be extended for another year. Leshchenko was appointed the WB country manager for Azerbaijan in September 2012.

Azerbaijan became a WB member in 1992.
